Gander mountain rain gear

Gander mountain rain gear

Attracting animals to my food while I sleep. I don't want to wake up with a 40 pound raccoon in my tent. I plan to hang my food in a bag from a tree 50 feet away from my tent. Hopefully I don't run into a pack of engineering raccoons from the Pratt & Whitney site that decide to gnaw through the rope and drag my entire food supply into their lair. I will keep some basics with me just in case.
- Insect problems. I have Mosquitos netting and repellant. I plan to set up camp well before dark and inspect the area for fire ants. I set up camp in the dark in the Ocala National Forrest once. I got lucky I didn't plop down right on top of the nest but I was dancing around like crazy when sat down to have my breakfast. I had to drag my whole camp 20 feet to break it down. Fire ants are aggressive little buggers.
- Rain. I have rain gear and plastic protection and rope to support it for my tent. I plan to allocate a solid hour to setting up my camp. I'm not going to rush and plop down to start staring at the grass only to have it ran and ruin my whole trip. I have plenty of time to do things properly
