Ladies raincoats
Raincoats are created to ward away rain water from the body of the wearer.
Very early raincoats used to be prepared with a rubberized solution that was applied to the material. In the Eighteenth Century women's raincoats happened to be extremely bulky and additionally challenging to wear.
This style of raincoat was followed by one called the MacIntosh that was a rubberized treated material. These Mackintosh rain coats were some of the first genuinely water-proof rain coats, and they did an admirable job of shielding the wearer from the rainwater. So much in fact that the Macintosh raincoat is still very popular today.
Modern raincoats are made from vinyl (and had been once referred to as slickers) or rubberized fabrics that are light weight, making the coat less difficult to move around in, and they are comfortable and warm besides being water repellent
