Jewelry has had an important place in human existence since time in memorial. It is hard to imagine a world without jewelry and this has become an important part of human existence. Jewelry is steeped in history and bracelets in particular. The first appearance of bracelets can be traced back to 2500 B.C. and might have been first worn by Sumerians. Women in those days wore jewelry such as bracelets, earrings, necklaces and other jewelry as a sign that their husband was wealthy. Bracelets have also been discovered in the tombs of ancient Sumerian rulers.
Charm bracelets on the other hand can be traced back to ancient Egypt. They were believed to be protection against evil spirits and were worn more for this purpose than as accessories. The charm bracelets were also widely believed to bring good fortune to the wearer in ancient Egypt.
